The conversion process also opens up the potential for increased Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), giving you more flexibility for hauling gear, towing heavy loads, or touring fully equipped.

  • Legal compliance with towing and carrying capacity upgrades.
  • Improved capability and performance for heavy loads.
  • Ready for any adventure Australia-wide.

GCM Upgrades Tailored to Your State's Regulations

Creative Conversions can take your post-registration LC300 series to a 4495kg GVM across all states, Australia-wide.

What GCM is possible for your vehicle depends on each state’s regulations. We work closely with each state’s regulatory body and our network of experienced engineers to ensure your dual-cab converted vehicle is legal and compliant. Your Questions, Answered

From arrival on site, your vehicle will go through our 13-step conversion process in 33 working days. Taking an LC300 series from a luxury wagon to a dual-cab is an intensive engineering and fabrication process. At each step of the way, our quality control checks and processes ensure that your vehicle is completed to the highest standard.

The cost of the dual-cab conversion starts from $60,095 but can vary depending on accessories,

For a dual-cab conversion, an accredited engineer must inspect the vehicle to ensure it meets safety and regulatory standards, including brakes, lighting, suspension, and chassis. When compliant, they issue an approval report.

The vehicle then undergoes a compliance or roadworthy inspection by an authorized body in your state to confirm it’s safe and legal under Australian Design Rules and state laws.

After passing this inspection, the vehicle’s registration is updated with your local authority, reflecting the modifications and changes to GVM, BTC and GCM. Sometimes, a new compliance plate is issued. The team at Creative Conversions will complete all post-conversion inspections and registration updates.

It’s important to inform your insurer about the modifications to keep coverage accurate, and retain all certificates and reports for legal and insurance purposes.

Our LandCruiser dual-cab conversions are designed to stay within the NB1 vehicle category, ensuring that you can keep driving with your existing car license. However, if you do decide to further increase your vehicle’s GVM above 4.5 tonnes, the vehicle will then fall into the NB2 vehicle category, requiring a Light Rigid (LR) truck license.
