Tundra GCM

The tub is removed from the chassis and the cab is lifted to allow full access to the wheelbase. Because the Tundra is a petrol hybrid, all hybrid and fuel systems are fully decommissioned before any work begins. This ensures zero electrical generation, no vapour risk, and a controlled environment for welding and fabrication.

The factory chassis is strengthened between the wheelbase using a laser-cut, vehicle-specific bracing system. Unlike chassis extensions or cuts, this process increases steel volume and rigidity without altering factory geometry.

All factory holes, drainage points and mounting locations are retained. This allows for long-term corrosion protection and compatibility with factory and aftermarket body solutions.

The rear axle housing is removed and reinforced using Creative Conversions’ proven diff bracing system. This strengthens the factory housing without altering internal components, allowing the rear axle rating to increase to 2,800 kg while remaining factory sealed.

The reinforced rear end is then reinstalled, ready to support higher payloads, towing loads and suspension upgrades.

A honey-like internal rustproofing solution is applied inside the chassis rails, followed by a full OE-style enamel finish externally. Drainage points are preserved to prevent moisture build-up over the life of the vehicle.

The rear receives a full load-rated suspension system with Outback Armour coils, Airbag Man airbags, upgraded bump stops and rear shocks designed for higher GVM use. The front is fitted with fully adjustable Outback Armour struts, a diff drop kit and upgraded components to support a 1,900 kg front axle rating.

Wheels and tyres are upgraded from factory 20-inch passenger-rated tyres to 18-inch load-rated wheels with light-truck construction tyres, matched to maintain gearing, drivability and braking performance.

All electronic systems are scanned, cleared and tested to ensure full factory functionality. Suspension clearances, wheel alignment, brake performance and ride quality are verified. The tub is refitted, mounts are checked, and the vehicle is detailed, ready for a final test drive. 

Nothing leaves Creative Conversions unless it performs as intended.
